CHAPTER 28
(House Bill 411)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 198 to 203, inclusive, of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Baltimore City (1949 Edition, being Article
4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Baltimore
City," subtitle "Taxicabs," repealing certain local laws of the
City of Baltimore which concern the operation of taxicabs, the
schedule of rates charged by them, the duties of the driver in
charge of any taxicab, and the duties of the Police Commissioner
of Baltimore City with respect to taxicab stands.

Whereas, Sections 198 to 203, inclusive, in the 1949 Code of
Public Local Laws of Baltimore City concern the regulation of
taxicabs by the Baltimore City Police Department; and

Whereas, By Chapter 379 of the Acts of 1966, this function was
turned over to the Public Service Commission and therefore these
sections may be repealed; now, therefore

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 198 to 203, inclusive, of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Baltimore City (1949 Edition, being Article 4 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Baltimore City," subtitle
"Taxicabs," be and they are hereby repealed.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

CHAPTER 29
(House Bill 412)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 347 to 350, inclusive, of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Baltimore City (1949 Edition, being Article
4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Baltimore
City," subtitle "Hours of Labor and Wages," repealing certain
obsolete provisions in the local laws of Baltimore City concerning
the hours of labor and the wages for certain laborers and other
workmen and the contracts made therefor by or on behalf of the
Mayor and City Council of Baltimore.

Whereas, Sections 347 to 350, inclusive, of the 1949 Edition of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Baltimore City concern hours of
labor and wages and are completely obsolete since this subject now
is covered by the City of Baltimore Ordinance No. 969 of 1967; and
