and 1968 Supplement), title "Maryland Airport Authority," be and
the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

21.

(g) The Airport Zoning Commission, in determining the various
original boundaries of airport zoning districts and in determining the
original airport zoning regulations to be enforced in such original
airport zoning [distrcts] districts for recommendation to the Airport
Zoning Board, for their guidance, shall give consideration, among
other things, to all of the guides and standards contained in [section]
subsection (d) of this section and other restrictions contained in this
section.

(k) The Board of Airport Zoning Appeals, created in accordance
with the provisions of Section 16 of Article 1A, Annotated Code of
Maryland, is hereby authorized and empowered to hear, decide and
grant specific variances from airport zoning regulations in cases of
practical difficulty or unnecessary hardship after public notice has
been given and a hearing held in connection therewith. Any person
desiring to erect any structure or increase the height of any struc-
ture, or permit the growth of any tree, or otherwise use his property,
in violation of any airport zoning regulation, may make application
in the manner provided in [section] subsection (i) hereof for a
variance from the airport zoning regulations in question. In all
applications for variance permits arising under said [section] sub-
section
(i) the Board of Airport Zoning Appeals shall act as a
fact-finding body and as a guide to its decision shall give considera-
tion, among other things, to the rules, regulations, restrictions,
guides and standards set forth in the said article, in this subtitle
and in the airport zoning rules and regulations, and especially to
the following:

(1)    The guides and standards set forth in [section] subsection
(d) of this section;

(2)    The height and width or proposed height and width and use
or proposed use of the particular structure or tree in connection with
which a variance from the airport zoning regulations is being re-
quested ;

(3)    Whether or not the particular structure or tree will create
or become an airport hazard; and

(4) Whether or not the issuance of such permit will result in
endangering the public health, safety, security or order.

(r)(l) Districts. To carry out the purposes of [sections] sub-
sections
(d) to (q), inclusive, of this section, three (3) types of
airport zoning districts are hereby approved and established for
the Friendship International Airport for that land area within a
circle whose radius is four (4) miles from a point whose Maryland
Grid Coordinates are E893,909.99-N490,279.30: (i) approach zone
districts, (ii) transition zone districts, and (iii) turning zone dis-
tricts.
