projects; parking facilities of every type and description; highways,
parkways, traffic distribution centers and facilities necessary or
incident thereto; and public transportation facilities and systems of
every kind and description.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the im-
mediate preservation of the public health and safety, and having
been passed by a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the
members elected to each of the two houses of the General Assembly,
the same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 644
(House Bill 265)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 338B of
Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968 Supplement),
title "Health," subtitle "Plumbing," to remove the reference to
water supply and private sewage disposal systems and installa-
tions in that section.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 338B of Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1968 Supplement), title "Health," subtitle "Plumbing," be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

338B.

Notwithstanding the provision of Section 2 of this article concern-
ing the rules and regulations governing the character and location
of plumbing [, water supply, private sewage disposal] systems and
the installation, operation and maintenance of such systems, the pro-
visions of this subtitle on plumbing (with the exception of those
provisions relating to the examination and licensing of persons de-
siring to work at the plumbing business by the State Board of Com-
missioners of Practical Plumbing), shall not apply to Anne Arundel
County provided that prior to October 1, 1968, the County Council
of said county, after a public hearing, adopts for its plumbing code
the seventh draft of the proposed revision of the State Plumbing
Code drafted by the committee on revision of the Maryland State
Plumbing Code, with such amendments as may be adopted from
time to time.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.
