(House Bill 1066)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 110(a)
of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Justices of the Peace," subtitle "Trial Magis-
trates System," to increase the compensation of justices of the
peace in Queen Anne's County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 110 (a) of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1968 Replacement Volume), title "Justices of the Peace,"
subtitle "Trial Magistrates System," be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
110.
(a) Justices of the peace other than trial magistrates shall be
paid by the county commissioners, as full compensation for their
official acts and services in civil and criminal cases, the sum of $20.00
annually, but in Anne Arundel [County] and Queen Anne's Counties
they shall receive $200.00 annually and shall post a sign on their
place of business or residence indicating their official office, and
in Kent [,] and Talbot [and Queen Anne's] counties shall receive
annually the sum of $50.00 and in Washington County they shall
receive the sum of $100.00 annually, in Harford County they shall
receive the sum of $200.00 annually, and in Carroll County they
shall receive the sum of $180.00 annually; but they may retain all
fees lawfully charged by them for taking acknowledgments or affida-
vits unrelated to their civil or criminal jurisdiction. Committing
magistrates in Calvert County shall each receive an annual salary
of three hundred dollars ($300.00).
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969 MAY 1, 1971.

(House Bill 1073)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 59-88(a)
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's County (1963
Edition and 1967 Supplement), and Section 70-94(a) of the Mont-
gomery County Code (1965 Edition as amended) being Article 17
and 16, respectively, of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
titles "Prince George's County" and "Montgomery County," sub-
title "Park and Planning Commission," to provide that the issuance
of licenses or permits may be allowed where the use proposed is
not prohibited in a residential zone.
