the State Treasurer and credited to a special fund for payment of all
authorized expenditures of the Board. At the close of the fiscal year,
the Secretary shall submit a financial report to the State Comp-
troller and at that time any surplus funds shall revert to the State
Treasury. The Secretary shall review and pay all necessary expenses
of the Board and shall be bonded in accordance with Sections 46
through 50 of Article 78A of this Code.

(8)    The Board may employ the employees necessary to carry out
the provisions of this subtitle.

(9)    The Board shall review every application for registration
which is submitted with the prescribed fee, and may waive the
written or oral examinations, or both, on any application received
prior to July 1,1970.

727.

A person may qualify for registration as a Registered Sanitarian
in the following manners:

(1)    Graduation from an accredited college or university with a
baccalaureate degree in Environmental Science or Natural Sciences
or completion of thirty (30) acceptable semester credit hours in
Natural Sciences; and a minimum of four (4) years of satisfactory
experience in the field of Environmental Sanitation. In computing
years of experience the Board may give credit of not more than two
(2) years for satisfactory graduate study in Environmental Science;
and successful completion of a written examination in the basic
sciences relating to environmental health and of an examination in
the principles and practices of environmental sanitation. A person
who has successfully completed the examination and is registered
under this Subtitle as a Sanitarian-in-training shall be considered to
have completed successfully the examination in the basic sciences
required by this Section; or

(2)    Graduation from an accredited college or university with a
baccalaureate degree in some field other than Environmental Science
or the Natural Sciences; plus a record of at least eight (8) years of
experience satisfactory to the Board; and the successful completion
of a written examination in the basic sciences relating to environ-
mental health and an examination in the principles and practices of
environmental sanitation. A person who has successfully completed
the examination and is registered under this subtitle as a Sanitarian-
in-training shall be considered to have completed successfully the
examination in the basic sciences required by this Section; or

(3)    A record of at least twelve (12) years' experience satis-
factory to the Board and successful completion of an examination
in the principles and practice of environmental sanitation. The
Board may waive examination of applicants under this Section if it
considers the applicant to be recognized as outstanding within the
field of environmental sanitation.
