80 Rowland Jackson Plt. Somerset Ss.// John Taylor late of this County John Taylor Dfendt } was attached to answer unto Rowland ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Jackson of white haven in the Kingdom of England Marriner, of a plea of trespass of the Case, &ca & whereupon the sd Rowland pr Sam Worthington his Attorney Complaineth that on or about the Second day day of May June in ye year of or Lord 1694 at= Wiccocomoco within the Jurisdiction of this Court the sd John became indebted unto the sd Rowland in the just Sum of four hundred pounds of tobacco it being for Sundry goods & Merchandize Sold & Delivered to him the sd John as pr accot here in Court produced appears & ye sd John being in manner as afd , did upon himSelf assume and faithfully promise that the afd Sum of tobacco he would well and truely Content & pay when thereunto required, Nevertheless the sd John to the sd Rowland the sd Sum of tobacco hath not paid though often thereunto required to the damage of the sd Rowland of Eight hundred pounds of tobacco & thereupon he brings this Sute &ca. Inventus the Declaracon read & accot proved in Court attachmt was humbly Craved agt ye goods &a of the Dfendt which by this Court was Orderd with Cost &ca. giving Security according to Law - - - Whereupon Came Samuel Worthington & did pr Recogniz acknowledge himself to be indebted to the sd Taylor Dft the Sum of 1000:lb of tobacco &ca. with Condicon &a that if ye sd absent Dft shall within a twelve month & a day either by himSelf of Attorney plead in barr to ye sd accon or lawfully discount ye whole or part ,that then he ye said Worthington would be responsible as the Law requires &ca. attachmt issued Antho. Morris &a Plts Somerset County Ss. // James Jones Dfendt } James Jones late of Virginia was attached ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ to answer unto Antho. Morris & Martha his Wife Admrx of the goods Chattels & Credits of Joshua Light otherwise Called Joseph Light deceased of a plea of trespass on the Case. And whereupon the sd Anthony & Martha by Peter Dent their Attorney Complains that whereas the sd James ye 20th day of May in the year of our Lord 1675 at Pocomoke within the Jurisdiction of this Court was indebted to the Said Joshua otherwise Called Joseph in his life time in the Sum of two thousand pounds of tobacco, as by a Certain Note subscribed
