At a Court held at Deviding Creek in the County of Somerset in ye Province of Maryland by there Maties Justices ye 15th day of 8ber ano Dom 1695 Comrs prsent mr ffra Jenckins. mr Tho:Newbold. mr Edwd Howard mr Jno King mr Ste.Horsey & mr Arnold Elzey ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Mr John ffisher in the absence of the Clk of the County was this day Sworn Deputy Clk. - - - - - after which the Justices abovesd in Obedience to a prcept from the prsent Governr of this Province thereby impowering the afd Justices to appoint a day for the Electing & Chooseing one Delegate for the County afd It is – therefore Ordered by the Justices afd that the day of Election afd be on tuesday next being the 22nd day of this instant 8ber & yt due notice be given in Order to the Severall & respective Inhabitants Qualified to Vote may appear by twelve a Clock at the house of Richd Tulls at Deviding Creek and that end the Clerk is hereby Ordered imediatly to issue out this Order directed to every respective Constable within this County & to deliver the Same to the Sheriffe to transmitt to each Constable who are hereby Strictly Charged and Comanded forthwith to give Notice to every prson within their hundred Qualified by law to repaire at the time & place afd there to make their Election as afd and hereof the Sheriff nor Constable are not to faile as they shall answer the Contrary at their perill. To Jno Broughton Constable to} Execute this Warrant — Somerset County Ss. 8ber ye 15th 1695 John Broughton Constable Ex this Warrt makes Return with the prisonr who denyes the falt & puts the matter upon proof Jno Kellam Sworn &a Saith that he lost the within mentioned at the time or thereabouts the within Sum & that he Suspects ye within Named prson who Confesseth to be master of Such Sum of money that he was accomodated with it by one Richd a litle man that lived at mr Madduxes & whereas he also taxed with divers other things & Crimes & thereby rendered a Suspicious person — These are therefore in his Maties Name to require yw Majr Wm Whittington to take the Sd within mentioned prson Philip Breedy in Safe Custody So that
