James Barry Tanner The sd Barry upon the 17th day of March vers ano Domi 1692/3. having obtained a judgmt Peter Whaples – agt the sd Whaples for Seven good Slaughter ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ hides and three paire of good large shoes in this Court with Cost of Sute. And therefore he the Said James this day (viz) the 12th day of March afd in open Court Came by his Attorney mr Samuel Worthington, and did assign over all his right of the aforesd – judgmt agt the sd Whaples with Cost of Sute to John West Clk of this Court. And for proof of the sd Order from the sd Barry to the Said Worthington for the foresd Assignment to the sd West, Capt John King made probat of the Same, whereupon this Court Confirms the Same &ca. //
His Matie Peter Watson this day appearing, for want of the Kings Contra } Evidence, was Ordered to give Security to appear the Peter Watson next Court to be held in June at Deviding Creek ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Whereupon Came the sd Ro Peter & his Security Rowland Beavins Junr and the sd Peter & Rowland, did acknowledge themselves to be owe & be indebted unto our Soveraign Lord the King viz the sd Peter in five pounds Sterling money & the sd Rowland in fifty Shillings due to be leavyed on their goods &ca for ye Kings use &ca
The Condicon of wch Recognizance is Such that if the above bounden Peter Watson Senior do make his prsonal appearance at our next Court to be held for this County the 2d. Tuesday in June next at Deviding Creek to answer unto all Such matters & things as shall be objected agt him on behalf of or Soveraign Lord the King, then the Recogniz void, or else to be & remaine in full power force & Vertue. — — —
Mr ffra Jenckins plt Somerset County Ss. Alexr Dunne Dft } Alexander Dunn was attached to answer ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ unto John West ffra Jenckins Gent. of a plea of trespas upon the Case. And whereupon the Said ffra pr himself Complaineth that whereas the sd Alexander ye 7th day of November in the year of our Lord 1687 at Pocomoke within the Jurisdiction of this Court was indebted to the said ffra in the Sum of three hundred pounds of tobacco as pr a prticular accot thereof here in Court to be produced may appear And the sd Alexander to the sd ffra. in manner afd being indebted, did assume upon himself and to the sd ffra faithfully promise that he the sd Alexander the sd Sum of three hundred pounds of tob to the sd ffra would well & truely content & pay. Nevertheless the sd Alexander his promise & Assumption aforesd not regarding but minding & fraudulently intending him the sd ffrancis in this behalf to deceive & defraud, the sd Sum of three hundred pounds of of tobacco to him the sd ffra hath not pd, but hath hitherto refused and
