~ ~ ~ ~ ~                   County was Sumoned to answer unto

James Round Gent of a Plea that he render unto him the Sum of fourteen

hundred & fourty pounds of tobacco & Caske, which to him he oweth and

unjustly deteyneth &ca. - - - - - And whereupon the Said James by Peter

Dent his Attorney Saith that the Said Thomas the 12^th day of May in the

year of our Lord 1695 at Nasswadox within the Jurisdiction of this

Court by his Certain Bill Obligatory which the Said James with the Seal

of the Said Thomas Signed brings here into Court, the date whereof is y^e

day & year afd acknowledged himself to be indebted to the sd James in the

Said Summ of 1440 Pounds of tobacco, to be pd to the sd Ja: at or upon the

the 10^th day of November Ensueing the date of the Said Bill, to which –

paym^t well & truely to be made the said Thomas bound himSelf firmly

by the said Bill. Nevertheless the Said Thomas the sd Sum of 1440 Pounds of

tobacco to the Said James hath not pd, but hath hitherto refused & doth still

refuse to the damage of the Said James of 3000 Pounds of tobacco & thereof

& fourty pounds of good Sound Mertable tobacco with Caske to Contain y^e Same

the which paym^t well & truely to be made at Snow hill towne, at or before

the 10^th day of November next ensueing the date hereof I bind my self
