Joseph Bassnett dft }        Joseph Bassnett was attached to answer

And whereupon the sd Thomas p^r Sam Worthington his Attorney

Complaineth that on the 12^th day of Aprill in the year of our Lord

1695 at Pocomoke within the Jurisdiction of this Court the Said

Joseph by his Certain Bill or writeing, which the sd Thomas

Signed & Sealed, here bringeth into Court, the date whereof is the

day & year aforesd, became indebted unto the sd Thomas in the

just Sum of four hundred & fifty pounds, of good Sound mertable

Tobacco in Caske. Nevertheless the sd Joseph, to the sd Thomas

the afd Sum of tobacco hath not paid to the damage of y^e Said

Thomas of 900 pounds of tobacco & thereupon he brings his

Sute &ca.

             The Dft in open Court Confest judgm^t for 394 pounds

              of tobacco, w^ch this Court grants order for w^th Cost &ca.

Robert Howard –                           was ordered that the sheriff of this

Comfort Scott & y^e orphant Wrixam White afd, w^ch by Complaint

this day, is no wayes complyed with &a.

The sd Howard not appearing y^e Quandam Sheriff m^r Wilson

produced in Court sd Howards Bond for his appearance at the

Provincial Court, being thereunto transmitted by Vertue of habeas

Corpus, which sd habeas Corpus was never read in this Court &ca.
