Rose Mason being Sumoned to appear this Court to give Evidence for the King agt Peter Watson, was this day Calld, & for want of her appa it was Ordered by ye Worll Court that the sher take into his Custody ye body of sd Rose & her in Safe Custody keep, until she give good Security for her prsonall appearance at ye next Court to be held for this County at Deviding Creek the 2d Tuesday in June, to answer unto what shall be objected against her on behalf of our Soveraign Lord the King &ca. Coppy Sent / ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ The Courts adjournd till tomorrow at Eight a Clock ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ At a Court held for the County of Somerset in the Province of Maryland by his Maties Justices of the Peace there unto appointed the 11th day of March anno Domini 1695/6. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Comrsprsent mr ffra Jenckins, mr Tho Dixon, mr Matt Scarbrough, mr Tho Newbold mr Sam Hopkins, mr John King, mr Stephen Horsey.
To the Worll Justices of the Peace for Somerset County in Court Sitting The humble Petion of Thomas Dixon showeth &ca That the Estate of Philip Adams Stood justly indebted unto yr Petioner the just Sum of Seven hundred & Sixty pounds of tobacco. And likewise the estate of Sam Long Stood indebted to sd Petioner the Sum of five hundred twenty four pounds of tobacco, all which yr humble Petioner Craves order for agt ye Admr as in duty bound shall pray &ca.
The Petion being read, John Long the Admr of the foresd Sam Long in open Court Confest judgmt to the sd Dixon for five hundred 24 & Sixty pounds of tobacco for which this Court grants Order for wth Cost alias Executio. 524: ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ The aforsds Petion being read Thomas Adams Admr of Philip Adams this day in open Court Confest judgmt to the sd Dixon for the foresd Seven hundred & Sixty pounds of tobacco for wch this Court grants order for wth Cost
His Matie The Defendt this day appearing and also Jane Jones contr. } and the sd Jane made Oath in Open Court that he ye Jno Fynch Said ffynch was the ffather of her Basterd Child — ~ ~ ~ ~ Whereupon it was considered & Ordered that Jno ffynch doe pay to ye said Jane five hundred pounds of tobacco for the time past for Nurseing the fd Basterd Child, & further ordered that the sd ffynch receive the sd Child & it to take care & provide for So that the County thereby be no wayes damnifyed, & that he give good Security for the Same & for his fine & fees // Whereupon Came the sd ffynch & his Security Charles Mullen And the ffynch & Mullon did confess themselves joyntly & Severally to be indebted unto our Soveraign Lord the King his Heirs & Successors the Sum of two thousand pounds of tobacco a piece, due to be levyed on their goods & Chattels lands & Tenemts for his Maties uses &ca.
