(House Bill 774)
AN ACT to add new Subsection 180 (c) to Article 66½ of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1967 Replacement Volume), title "Motor
Vehicles," subtitle "Commandeered Motor Vehicles," to follow
immediately after Subsection 180(b) thereof prohibiting police
officers from commandeering vehicles and directing operators,
owners, or passengers to assist in apprehending suspects or to
participate in a road block.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Subsection 180(c) be and it is hereby added to Article
66½ of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Replacement Vol-
ume), title "Motor Vehicles," subtitle "Commandeered Motor Vehi-
cles," to follow immediately after Subsection 180(b) thereof and to
read as follows:
180.
(c) No police officer of this State, or of any political subdivision
of this State, while acting within the scope of his authority in the
enforcement of any law of the State or of the particular political
subdivision, shall direct or order any operator, owner, or passenger
of any motor vehicle within the limits of this State to assist him in
the enforcement of laws or in apprehending any person suspected of
having or known to have committed a violation of law by comman-
deering such vehicle or directing participation in a road block BY
COMMANDEERING SUCH VEHICLE AND DIRECTING THE
OPERATOR, OWNER OR PASSENGER TO PARTICIPATE IN
A ROAD BLOCK IN THE APPREHENSION OF ANY PER-
SON SUSPECTED OF HAVING COMMITTED OR KNOWN
TO HAVE COMMITTED A VIOLATION OF LAW.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

(House Bill 801)
AN ACT to add a new Section 2A to Article 43 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1965 Replacement Volume), title "Health," subtitle
"State Board of Health and Mental Hygiene," to follow im-
mediately after Section 2 thereof, providing the State Board of
Health and Mental Hygiene may promulgate and enforce reason-
able rules and regulations relating to sanitation and adequate
shelter ON RAILROAD PROPERTY as affecting the health and
welfare of certain railroad employees.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
