School for the Deaf
A branch of the present Maryland School for the Deaf is hereby
established. It shall be located near the population center of the
State. , either in northern Anne Arundel County or in southern or
western Baltimore County. It shall be administered and operated
as part of and subject to the Maryland School for the Deaf.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That if capital funds for the
construction of this branch school have not previously been pro-
vided, the Governor shall include such amount as necessary for the
construction of the branch school, in the State's Capital Construc-
tion Bill to be submitted to the General Assembly of 1969. The
Governor shall include in the Budget Bill for fiscal year 1970 such
amount as necessary to assure the effective operation of the branch
school during that fiscal year.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

(Senate Bill 293)
AN ACT to repeal Sections 515 to 528, inclusive, of Article 43 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement Volume and 1967
Supplement), title "Health," subtitle "Architects" and to enact
new Sections 515 to 528 in lieu thereof, to stand in the place of
the sections so repealed, revising the provisions concerning the
qualifications and licensing of architects, providing for the mem-
bers, powers, duties, functions, and compensation of the Maryland
Architectural Registration Board, and relating generally to this
Board and to the profession of architecture in this State.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 515 to 528, inclusive, of Article 43 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement Volume and 1967 Supple-
ment), title "Health," subtitle "Architects," be and they are hereby
repealed and that Sections 515 to 528 be and they are hereby enacted
in lieu thereof to stand in the place of the sections so repealed and
to read as follows:
515.
It is hereby declared that in order to safeguard life, health, public
safety and property and to promote the public welfare by requiring
that only properly qualified persons shall hold themselves out as
architects or be permitted to use the designation of "architect" or
be permitted to practice architecture in the State of Maryland, such
persons shall be compelled to submit evidence that they are qualified
to practice architecture and shall be registered as hereinafter pro-
vided.
