(House Bill 1164)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 2-7 (f)
of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Replace-
ment Volume and 1967 Supplement), title "Election Code," sub-
title "Election Boards and Employees," to provide that in Allegany
County, judges of elections shall receive a minimum of thirty
dollars ($30.00) per day for each day actually served.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 2-7(f) of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1967 Replacement Volume and 1967 Supplement), title "Elections,"
subtitle "Election Boards and Employees," be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
2-7(f).
Each board shall have power to fix the compensation of judges
within the limits of the amounts authorized for this purpose by the
county commissioners, county council or the mayor and city council
of Baltimore, as the case may be, provided that compensation shall
not be less than twenty dollars ($20.00) per day for each day actually
served. In Allegany County the compensation shall not be less than
thirty dollars ($30.00) per day for each day actually served.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

(House Bill 1170)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 40(1) of
Article 10 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Supplement),
title "Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact," subtitle "State's
Attorney," changing the State's Attorney's allowance in Garrett
County for postage, office and traveling expenses.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 40(1) of Article 10 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1967 Supplement), title "Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact,"
subtitle "State's Attorney," be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

In Garrett County (1) the State's Attorney's salary is four thou-
sand dollars ($4,000).
(2) The State's Attorney's allowance for postage, office and
traveling expenses is [twenty-four hundred dollars ($2,400)] six
thousand dollars ($6,000).
