to read as follows:

The supervisor of assessments of Baltimore County is hereby au-
thorized to designate one member of his staff as a field supervisor.
Baltimore County, Maryland, shall be authorized and directed to
levy and pay such field supervisor of assessments of Baltimore County
a salary as specified in [standard salary grade XXXI as established
by the personnel and salary advisory board] The Compensation
Plan of Baltimore County, Maryland, from time to time, including
increments for time served and longevity specified for such grade,
provided, however, that service of such field supervisor of assessments
prior to June 30, [1966] 1968, as field supervisor of assessments,
shall be taken into consideration in determining the salary payable
to him, and provided further that the portion of said salary to be
paid by the State shall be limited to the amount provided in Section
237 of this Article.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 240 of
Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement
Volume and 1967 Supplement), title "Revenue and Taxes," subtitle
"State Department of Assessments and Taxation," to amend the
law to provide that the annual salary of the supervisor of assess-
ments for Baltimore County be as specified in the Compensation
Plan of Baltimore County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 240 of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1965 Replacement Volume and 1967 Supplement), title "Revenue
and Taxes," subtitle "State Department of Assessments and Taxa-
tion," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:
