service on any day extends beyond six o'clock p.m. and up to nine
o'clock p.m. A second additional sum of five dollars shall be paid
if the service on any day extends beyond nine o'clock p.m.

(h) In [Calvert and] Garrett [counties] county, jurors shall re-
ceive eight dollars per day for each and every day they shall attend
a court of this State as jurors and shall receive no extra allowances
for [either mileage or] overtime [except in Garrett County, where
jurors] and they shall receive fifteen cents for each mile over five
miles for going to and returning from the court, once in each term.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

CHAPTER 210
(House Bill 235)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 28-7(b)
of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Replace-
ment Volume and 1967 Supplement), title "Elections," subtitle
"Registration by Judges Acting as Boards of Registry," to cor-
rect an error therein by adding closing quotation marks after
the words "Certification of New Resident Voter."

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 28-7(b) of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1967 Replacement Volume and 1967 Supplement), title "Elec-
tions," subtitle "Registration by Judges Acting as Boards of Regis-
try," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments,
to read as follows:

28-7.

(a)  The applicant upon receiving the ballot for presidential and
vice-presidential electors shall mark forthwith the ballot in the
presence of the registrar but in a manner that the registrar cannot
know how the ballot is marked. He shall then fold the ballot in
the presence of the registrar so as to conceal the markings, and
deposit it and seal it in an envelope furnished by the registrar.

(b)  The voter shall enclose the envelope containing the ballot
in a carrier envelope which shall be securely sealed. There shall
be imprinted on the outside of the carrier envelope a statement
substantially as follows:

"Certification of New Resident Voter"

I have qualified as a new resident voter in this State to vote for
presidential and vice-presidential electors. I have not applied nor
do I intend to apply for any absentee voter's ballot from the state
from which I have removed. I have not voted and I will not vote
otherwise than by this ballot.
