178                             LAWS OF MARYLAND                      [CH. 142

$3,000,000 to include in such Sections authority previously con-
tained in said Sections 248L to 248U, inclusive, which are repealed
hereby; clarifying certain provisions of said Sections 248B to
248K, inclusive; providing generally for such additional authority
to issue revenue bonds under any existing or new resolution
and/or trust agreement; and relating generally to the issuance of
revenue bonds to finance housing units for St. Mary's College of
Maryland.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 248C, 248D (a), 248D (b), 248E and 248F of Article
77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement Volume),
title "Public Education," subtitle "Chapter 25. Miscellaneous," be
and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, all
to read as follows:

248C.

In order to provide additional facilities for the public colleges
under its direction and control, the Board of Trustees of St. Mary's
College of Maryland is hereby authorized and empowered, from
time to time:

(a)  To construct, equip, maintain, repair and operate one or
more housing units for students, both graduate and undergraduate,
at each of the public colleges under its direction and control;

(b)   To issue revenue bonds of the Board of Trustees not to
exceed in the aggregate [$1,000,000.00] $3,000,000.00 for the pur-
pose of paying all or any part of the cost of any one or more of
said housing units;

(c)  To fix and revise, from time to time, fees, rents and other
charges for the use of such housing units;

(d)  To acquire, hold and dispose of real and personal property
in the exercise of its powers and the performance of its duties
under Sections 248B-248K, inclusive, of this subtitle;

(e)  To make and enter into all contracts and agreements neces-
sary or incidental to the performance of its duties and the execution
of its powers under Sections 248B-248K, inclusive, of this subtitle,
and to employ consulting engineers, attorneys, construction and
financial experts and such other employees and agents as may be
necessary in the opinion of said Board of Trustees and to fix their
compensation; provided that all such acts and agreements shall be
payable solely from the proceeds of revenue bonds issued under the
provisions of Sections 248B-248K, inclusive, of this subtitle, or
from funds otherwise provided;

(f)  To receive and accept from the United States of America or
any agency thereof grants for or in aid of the construction of any
housing unit or any part thereof, and to receive and accept aid or
contributions from any source of either money, property, labor or
other things of value, to be held, used and applied only for the
purposes for which such grants and contributions may be made;
and

(g)  To do all acts and things necessary or convenient to carry
out the powers expressly granted by the provisions of Sections
248B-248K, inclusive, of this subtitle.
