CHAPTER 141
(Senate Bill 357)

AN ACT to add new Section 174 (e) to Article 66½ of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1967 Replacement Volume), title "Motor
Vehicles," subtitle "Unsatisfied Claim and Judgment Fund," to
follow immediately after Section 174 (d) thereof, to give the Un-
satisfied Judgment Fund Board the power to waive repayments
of judgments and to give the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles the
power to waive the provisions of the Financial Responsibility Law
in certain cases.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 174 (e) be and it is hereby added to Article 66½
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Replacement Volume),
title "Motor Vehicles," subtitle "Unsatisfied Claim and Judgment
Fund," to follow immediately after Section 174 (d) thereof, and
to read as follows:

174 (e).

In the event the owner or operator of a motor vehicle was cov-
ered by a policy of automobile insurance that complied with the
Motor Vehicle Financial Responsibility Law at the time of the ac-
cident but subsequently a judgment is entered against the insured
owner or operator and where by reason of exclusionary automobile
policy provisions the insurance company is not liable for the pay-
ment of the judgment, thereby resulting in a payment by the Board,
then the Board, in its discretion, may waive the repayment of that
amount of the judgment paid by the Board and the Commissioner,
at his discretion, may suspend the operation of the Motor Vehicle
Responsibility Law as it pertains to such owner or operator.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968, and apply to accidents occurring after July 1, 1968.

CHAPTER 142
(Senate Bill 363)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 248C,
248D (a), 248D (b), 248E and 248F of Article 77 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement Volume), title "Public
Education," subtitle "Chapter 25. Miscellaneous"; and to repeal
Sections 248L to 248U, inclusive, of said Article 77 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1967 Cumulative Supplement), title
"Public Education," subtitle "Chapter 25. Miscellaneous," as
enacted by Chapter 693 of the Laws of Maryland of 1967; pro-
viding for an increase in the aggregate principal amount of rev-
enue bonds authorized by Sections 248B to 248K, inclusive, of
said Article 77 to finance housing units (as defined in such Sec-
tions) for St. Mary's College of Maryland from $1,000,000 to
