(Senate Joint Resolution 46)

Senate Joint Resolution requesting the Governor to continue for a
certain period a previously appointed committee to study the
organization of the State Board of Agriculture.

Whereas, The Governor of Maryland, pursuant to Senate Joint
Resolution No. 58 of 1967, appointed a committee in 1967 to study the
organization of the State Board of Agriculture; and

Whereas, The said committee made such study and issued a formal
report in December, 1967, with certain recommendations and con-
clusions; and

Whereas, it is desirable to have such committee continue in pur-
pose and, where possible, in identical membership to the end that
it may study the legislative and working results of its report; now,
therefore, be it

Resolved, That the Governor is requested to continue the 1967 Com-
mission to Study the State Board of Agriculture with, to the extent
practicable, the same named members, for a period of two years,
and be it further

Resolved, That this Commission is requested to study the legisla-
tive and working results of its efforts and report on the same to the
Governor and the General Assembly not later than October 31st, 1970
1969.

(Senate Joint Resolution 53)

Senate Joint Resolution requesting the Governor of Maryland to ap-
point a Committee to prepare a comprehensive law covering the
Retail Credit Sales Field, and designating who shall be Chairman
of said Committee.

Whereas, there presently exists a state of chaos in the Retail
Credit Sales Field throughout the State; and

Whereas, in Maryland, the present state of credit sales is in a
state of flux, with a Retail Installment Sales Act, a Retail Credit
Accounts Law, and the Uniform Commercial Code; and

Whereas, the bulk of financing today is moving away from the
regulated areas because of provisions of the Uniform Commercial
Code; and
