1598                            JOINT RESOLUTIONS

all quarterly sessions of the Council and participate therein; and
that the Advisory Committee must meet separately at the call of
its chairman; and be it further

Resolved, That the Governor is requested to provide in the supple-
mental budget for the fiscal year 1969, or from contingent funds at
his disposal, such monies as may be necessary for the work of the
Council and of the Advisory Committee as outlined in this Resolution.

(Senate Joint Resolution 32)

Senate Joint Resolution requesting the appointment of a Committee
to study the feasibility of the consolidation of the La Vale Sani-
tary Commission and LaVale Zoning Board with the Allegany
County Sanitary Commission and Allegany County Zoning Com-
mission, respectively.

Whereas, Allegany County has established within its boundaries
a separate zoning and sanitary district called the LaVale Zoning and
Sanitary District, respectively; and

Whereas, The LaVale Sanitary Commission and the LaVale Zon-
ing Board were also established to regulate all sanitary and zoning
matters, respectively, within this district; and

Whereas, There is obviously much overlapping of functions and
duties between all four of the aforementioned bodies; and

Whereas, It is believed that from the standpoint of economy of
operation, collection and supervision, that there should be only one
Sanitary Commission and one Planning and Zoning Commission for
the whole county; now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That a Com-
mission of seven qualified persons be appointed by the County Com-
missioners, one to be from the LaVale Sanitary Commission, one to
be from the LaVale Zoning Board, one to be from the Allegany
County Sanitary Commission, one to be from the Allegany County
Zoning Commission, one to be from the City of Cumberland, and
two to be from the county at large, to study the feasibility of hav-
ing only one Sanitary Commission and one Planning and Zoning
Commission for Allegany County; and be it further

Resolved, That such Commission is requested to submit its report
and recommendations to the Legislative Council prior to the conven-
ing of the 1969 General Assembly; and be it further

Resolved, That copies of this Resolution be sent to the County
Commissioners of Allegany County.
