62.
(a) The Department of Labor and Industry shall administer and
enforce the provisions of this Act, and is hereby empowered to
prescribe and promulgate rules and regulations consistent herewith.
(b) Any person, firm or corporation who fails to comply with or
who violates any of the provisions of this subtitle shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be liable to a fine of
not less than twenty-five dollars ($25.00) nor more than one thousand
dollars ($1,000.00), or imprisonment not exceeding one year, or both,
in the discretion of the court.
63.
This Act shall not apply to the construction, operation or mainte-
nance of high-voltage lines and their supporting structures and associ-
ated equipment by public utilities regulated by the Public Service
Commission of Maryland, their agents or contractors, NOR TO THE
REPAIR OR MAINTENANCE OF ELECTRICAL POWER
PLANTS AND SYSTEMS OWNED OR OPERATED BY PRI-
VATE COMPANIES OR CORPORATIONS, WHICH PRODUCE
OR GENERATE ELECTRICITY FOR THEIR OWN USE.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That if the provisions of this
Act or the application thereof to any person or circumstance is held
invalid for any reason, such invalidity shall not affect the other provi-
sions or any other application of this Act which can be given effect
without the invalid provisions or application, and to this end, all the
provisions of this Act are hereby declared to be severable.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted. That all laws or parts of laws,
public general or public local, inconsistent with the provisions of this
Act are hereby repealed to the extent of any such inconsistency.
Sec. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

Code of Public Local Laws of Carroll County (1965 Edition, being
Article 7 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title
"Carroll County," subtitle "County Commissioners," as last
amended by Chapter 383 of the Acts of 1967; generally amending
the laws of Carroll County relating to volunteer fire companies.
