borrowing [.] and further provided that the borrowing power of the
County Commissioners is made contingent upon the Federal Govern-
ment's providing and making available for use by the county match-
ing funds by the date of January 1, 1969 JUNE 30, 1970.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act take effect January
1, 1969, contingent upon the Federal Government providing and
making available for use by the county matching funds prior to that
date and in the event that the Federal Government has not provided
and made available for use by the county matching funds by the
effective date of this Act, then this Act shall be null and void without
the necessity of further action by the General Assembly.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 382 to 404, inclusive, of the Charter and
Public Local Laws of Baltimore City (1949 Edition, being Article
4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Baltimore
City," subtitle "Jurors," and to enact new Sections 382 to 392,
inclusive, in lieu thereof, to stand in the place of the sections so
repealed, generally revising the local laws of Baltimore City con-
cerning jurors, the jury commissioner and the compensation, selec-
tion and duties of jurors in Baltimore City and providing also
for duties of certain other officers in relation thereto and the
general operation of the juries and other grand juries in Balti-
more City.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 382 to 404, inclusive, of the Charter and Public Local
Laws of Baltimore City (1949 Edition, being Article 4 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Baltimore City," subtitle
"Jurors," be and they are hereby repealed and that new Sections 382
to 392, inclusive, be and they are hereby enacted in lieu thereof,
to stand in the place of the sections so repealed and to read as
follows:
882. Jury Selection Policy
(a) It is the intention of this subtitle that every adult citizen
of the City of Baltimore who is qualified for service on grand and
petit juries in the courts of the Supreme Bench as hereinafter pro-
vided, shall have an opportunity to be considered for such service;
and, when summoned, shall have a corresponding duty and obligation
to serve as a grand or petit juror unless exempt by law or excused
as provided in this subtitle.
(b) No adult citizen shall be excluded from jury service in the
courts of the Supreme Bench of Baltimore City by reason of race,
color, religion, sex, national origin, or economic status.
