may, within thirty days after the filing of such decision in the office
of the Zoning Board, appeal to the Circuit Court for Allegany
County. The said Court shall hear all such appeals [de novo] with-
out the intervention of a jury and shall have power to affirm, modify
or reverse in part or in whole any decision appealed from and may
remand any case for the entering of a proper order or for further
proceedings, as the Court shall determine. An appeal may be taken
to the Court of Appeals of Maryland from any final decision of the
Circuit Court for Allegany County.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

CHAPTER 111
(Senate Bill 505)
AN ACT to repeal Sections 5-911 and 5-912 of the Anne Arundel
County Code (1967 Edition, being Article 2 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland), title "Anne Arundel County" subtitle
"People's Court," and to enact new Section 5-911 in lieu thereof,
to stand in the place of the sections so repealed, to provide for
a Deputy Chief Clerk of People's Court of Anne Arundel County,
and subject to a certain contingency to transfer and codify said
section under Section 98B-11 of Article 52 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume and 1967 Supplement)
provided that Chapter — of the Laws of 1968 (House Bill 465)
is enacted.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 5-911 and 5-912 of the Anne Arundel County Code
(1967 Edition, being Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland), title "Anne Arundel County," subtitle "People's
Court," be and they are hereby repealed and that new Section 5-911
be and it is hereby enacted in lieu thereof, to stand in the place
of the sections so repealed, and to read as follows:
5-911.
(a) In addition to the Chief Clerk, there shall be a Deputy Chief
Clerk, who shall receive a minimum, annual salary of seven thousand
dollars ($7,000), two (2) senior clerks of the People's Court who
shall receive minimum annual salaries of forty-five hundred dollars
($4,500), three (3) junior clerks who shall receive minimum annual
salaries of thirty-five hundred dollars ($3,500), five (5) constables
who shall receive minimum annual salaries of thirty-five hundred
dollars ($3,500), and such additional employees as the Chief Judge
may from time to time deem necessary who shall receive such
salaries as are provided in the annual county budget. The Chief
Clerk with the approval of the Chief Judge, shall make the appoint-
ments to all such positions and shall supervise and direct the work
thereof.
