SUPPORT OF DEPENDENTS
12.

The State's attorney of Baltimore City and of the various coun-
ties, upon the request of the court or the State Department of
[Public Welfare] Social Services, shall represent the obligee in any
proceeding under this article.

17.

The State Department of [Public Welfare] Social Services is
hereby designated as the State Information Agency under this article,
and it shall

(1)    Compile a list of the courts and their addresses in this State
having jurisdiction under this article and transmit the same to the
State Information Agency of every other state which has adopted
this or a substantially similar act, and

(2)    Maintain a register of such lists received from other states
and transmit copies thereof as soon as possible after receipt to every
court in this State having jurisdiction under this article.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the State Department
of Social Services herein referred to is a continuation of the State
Department of Public Welfare heretofore established; that the State
Board of Social Services herein referred to is a continuation of the
State Board of Public Welfare heretofore established; that the
State Director of Social Services herein referred to is a continua-
tion of the State Director of Public Welfare heretofore established;
that the local departments of social services in the counties, and
their local boards and their local directors herein referred to, are
continuations, respectively, of the local departments of public wel-
fare in the counties, and their local boards and local directors, all
heretofore established; and that the Department of Social Services
in Baltimore City, and its Commission of Social Services and its
Director of Social Services herein referred to, are continuations, re-
spectively, of the Department of Welfare in Baltimore City, and
its Welfare Commission and its Director of Welfare, all heretofore
established; it being the intent and purpose of this Act to change
the names of the mentioned State and local departments, boards,
commission and directors without other changes in powers, duties,
functions, operations, and employees. All references to the State
Department of Public Welfare, to the State Board of Public Welfare,
to the State Director of Public Welfare, to the local departments of
public welfare in the counties and to their local boards and their
local directors, and to the Department of Welfare in Baltimore City
and to its Welfare Commission and its Welfare Director, in other
laws of this State and of its political subdivisions are changed to
be references, respectively, to the State Department of Social Serv-
ices, to the State Board of Social Services, to the State Director of
Social Services, to the local departments of social services in the
counties and to their local boards and their local directors, and to
the Department of Social Services in Baltimore City and to its Com-
mission of Social Services and its Director of Social Services. All
references to the State Department of Public Welfare in the books
