Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 217(d) and SECTION 224(s) of Article 56 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume), title
"Licenses," subtitle "Real Estate Brokers," be and they are hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
217.
(d) The Commission may refuse to issue a license or renewal
thereof to any person who has been convicted in any court of com-
petent jurisdiction in this or any other state or district of the United
States of any crime which constitutes a violation of any of the pro-
visions of this subtitle and for which a license might be revoked
or who has been convicted of a crime involving an act of moral
turpitude.
224.
(s) Any act or conduct whether of the same or a different char-
acter than hereinabove specified which constitutes or demonstrates
bad faith, incompetency or untrustworthiness, or dishonest, fraud-
ulent, or improper dealings; or a conviction for a crime involving
an act of moral turpitude.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 37 (a)
of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Sheriffs," subtitle "Compensation and
Duties," revising the laws pertaining to sheriffs in THE COM-
PENSATION AND EXPENSE ALLOWANCE OF THE SHER-
IFF OF Allegany County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 37 (a) of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1964 Replacement Volume), title "Sheriffs," subtitle "Com-
pensation and Duties," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
37.
(a) Commencing with the beginning of the next term of offices,
the [The] Sheriff of Allegany County shall receive an annual salary
of [not less than $5,400.00] $7,800.00 and no allowance for expenses,
as fixed by the County Commissioners from time to time.
