Whereas, Since the allocation of funds made by the 1967 General
Assembly in Chapter 759 for the proposed South River State Park in
Anne Arundel County, the citizens of Anne Arundel County have
expressed objections to the location of such a park and it is now
desirable to reallocate these funds to the proposed Severn Run State
Park to permit an expansion of the size of the latter park; now,
therefore,
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 5 (E) (6) of Chapter 759 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of 1967 be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments; that Section 5 (E) (8) thereof be and it is hereby
repealed, and all to read as follows:

(E) (6) Severn Run State Park:
Land Acquisition [75 Acres]
(Approximately 140 Acres) ............................ [125,000] 275,000
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

(House Bill 338)
AN ACT to add new Sections 195(g), (h), and (i) to Article 66½
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Replacement Volume
and 1967 Supplement), title "Motor Vehicles," subtitle "Operation
of Vehicles Upon Highways," to provide that operators and pas-
sengers on motorcycles shall wear both protective headgear and
goggles or face shield while driving or riding, to provide further
that such protective gear shall be approved by the Commissioner
of Motor Vehicles, and to provide further that no motorcycle shall
be operated on State highways unless it is capable of being oper-
ated at a speed at least equal to the posted speed limit on the high-
way, and providing penalties for violations.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 195 (g), (h), and (i) be and they are hereby added to
Article 66½ of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Replacement
Volume and 1967 Supplement), title "Motor Vehicles," subtitle
"Operation of Vehicles Upon Highways," and all to read as follows:
195.
(g) No person shall drive, or ride on as a passenger, a motorcycle
as defined in this Article, unless he is wearing a firm and durable
protective helmet or headgear, and either safety goggles or a face
shield, approved by the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles.
