148.

(b-1) In Anne Arundel County not more than two members of
the Board of License Commissioners shall belong to the same
political party.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of this
Act shall not be applied to the members of the Board of License
Commissioners in office on the effective date of this Act, for the
remainder of the terms in which they then respectively are serving.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

CHAPTER 102
(Senate Bill 310)

AN ACT to add new Sections 29A and 133A to Article 56 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume), title
"Licenses," subtitles "Hawkers and Peddlers" and "Gypsies,
Fortunetellers, etc.", respectively, to follow immediately after
Sections 29 and 133 thereof, respectively, and to repeal and
re-enact, with amendments, Section 37 (c) of Article 87 of the
Code (1967 Supplement), title "Sheriffs," subtitle "Compensation
and Duties," to change the salaries of the Sheriff of Baltimore
County and certain officials and employees in his office, to allow
this Sheriff to appoint certain additional officials and ranks, and
to exempt him from certain duties under the certain licensing
laws. AND TO PROHIBIT THE EMPLOYMENT OF PART-
TIME DEPUTIES AFTER A CERTAIN DATE.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Sections 29A and 133A be and they are hereby added
to Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement
Volume), title "Licenses," subtitles "Hawkers and Peddlers" and
"Gypsies, Fortunetellers, etc.", respectively, to follow immediately
after Sections 29 and 133 thereof, respectively, and all to read
as follows:

29 A.

Notwithstanding the provisions of Sections 25 through 29 of this
article in Baltimore County it is not the duty of the sheriff or his
deputies to enforce the provisions of these sections.

133A.

Notwithstanding the provisions of Sections 131 through 133 of
this article in Baltimore County it is not the duty of the sheriff or
his deputies to enforce the provisions of these sections.
