1270                            LAWS OF MARYLAND                       CH. 630

George's County and Section 71-12 of the Montgomery County
Code, respectively, relating to and fixing the maximum rate of
interest which may be paid on any bond, note, certificate of in-
debtedness or other evidence of indebtedness to be issued by the
Washington Suburban Sanitary District.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 83-66A of the Public Local Laws of Prince
George's County (1963 Edition) and new Section 71-12A of the
Montgomery County Code (1965 Edition) being Articles 17 and
16, respectively, of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, titles
"Prince George's County" and "Montgomery County," subtitle
"Washington Suburban Sanitary District," be and they are hereby
added, to follow immediately after Sections 83-66 and 71-12 of the
respective Codes, and to read as follows:

83-66 A. (71-12A).

Any bonds, notes, certificates of indebtedness or other instru-
ments evidencing debt of the Washington Suburban Sanitary Dis-
trict?, issued under the provisions of this subtitle after Juno
JULY 1,
1968, shall bear interest at a rate not in excess of six per centum
(6%) per annum. Notwithstanding any other provisions of this sub-
title to the contrary, after said date the maximum rate of interest
of any obligation issued by the Washington Suburban Sanitary Com-
mission in its name or in the name of the Washington Suburban
Sanitary District shall bear interest at a rate not in excess of
six per centum (6%) per annum.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect

July 1, 1968.

SEC. 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, THAT THIS ACT
IS HEREBY DECLARED TO BE AN EMERGENCY MEASURE
AND NECESSARY FOR THE IMMEDIATE PRESERVATION
OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY AND HAVING BEEN
PASSED BY A YEA AND NAY VOTE SUPPORTED BY THREE-
FIFTHS OF ALL THE MEMBERS ELECTED TO EACH OF THE
TWO HOUSES OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY, THE SAME
SHALL TAKE EFFECT FROM THE DATE OF ITS PASSAGE.

AN ACT to add new Sections 534G and 534H to Article 27 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1967 Supplement)
title "Crimes and Punishments," subheading "Sabbath Break-
ing," to follow immediately after Section 534F thereof; to repeal
Sections 492, 521 and 522 as applicable within Montgomery
County;
to repeal AND REENACT, WITH AMENDMENTS,
SECTIONS 500 AND 501; AND TO REPEAL SECTIONS 502,
