17-5.

(c) In all elections the clerks of the circuit courts in the counties
and the Superior Court in Baltimore City shall within five days upon
receipt of the statements from the board of canvassers transmit cer-
tified copies of the statements and certificates to the Governor and
the Secretary of State. Within five days after the adjournment of
the board of canvassers the said clerk shall deposit the said certified
[copes] copies in the nearest post office, addressed respectively to
the Governor and to the Secretary of State.

28-2.

The board shall designate an officer or employee, who in addition
to his other duties, if any, shall act and be known as the "registrar"
of new resident voters," and who may have one or more authorized
deputies. As used in this subtitle, the term "registrar" refers to said
registrar of new resident voters or his authorized deputy. The regis-
trar shall be available during [normal] regular office hours at the
office of the board or other appropriate place, during the period of
twenty-five days preceding any general presidential election and on
election day.

28-3.

(a) A person desiring to qualify under this subtitle to vote for
presidential and vice-presidential electors shall make an application
in the form of an affidavit executed in duplicate in the presence of
the registrar, substantially as follows:

I,................................, do solemnly swear that:

1.   I am a citizen of the United States.

2.   Before becoming a resident of this State, I resided at................

........................ Street, in ................................ (Here insert name of

township, town, village, or city) of..................................County in the

State of..................................

3.   On the day of the next presidential election, I shall be at least
twenty-one years of age and I have or will have by the time of such
next presidential election resided in this State in the ward or election
district in which I shall offer to vote at least forty-five days next
preceding such general presidential election, and I am now residing

in the .................... precinct of the ........................ election district in

the County of........................ (or in the........................precinct of the

.................... ward in the ............ Legislative District of the City of

Baltimore), State of Maryland.

4.   I believe I am entitled under the law of this State to vote at the
presidential election to be held November............, 19.......

5.   I hereby make application for a presidential and vice-presiden-
tial ballot. I have not voted and will not vote otherwise than by this
ballot at that election.
