CHAPTER 78
(House Bill 563)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 323B of
Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement
Volume), title "Health," subtitle "State Board of Barber Exam-
iners," to provide a service charge for inspections made of barber-
shops newly opened, changing ownership CHANGING PROPRIE-
TORSHIP, or changing location.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 323B of Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1965 Replacement Volume), title "Health," subtitle "State Board
of Barber Examiners," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
323B.
The State Board of Barber Examiners shall after June 1, 1965,
inspect every barbershop hereafter opened and every barbershop
changing ownership PROPRIETORSHIP or location before it may
open for business or before the new owner PROPRIETOR assumes
the control and management of same, AND IT SHALL ASSESS A
SERVICE CHARGE OF TWENTY DOLLARS ($20.00) AGAINST
THE NEW PROPRIETOR FOR EACH INSPECTION MADE
UNDER THIS SECTION.
The remodeling and reopening of a barbershop on the same site as
an existing shop and under the same ownership PROPRIETORSHIP
shall not be considered as a new shop, for the purpose of this section.
The applicant must furnish proof that the shop is located and
equipped to meet the sanitary requirements of the State Department
of Health, State Board of Barber Examiners, and all phases of the
building code and zoning code of the City of Baltimore and all counties
in the State of Maryland. The State Board of Barber Examiners shall
assess service charge of twenty dollars ($20.00) for each inspection
made under this section.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 317 of
Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Replace-
ment Volume) title "Health," subtitle "State Board of Barber
Examiners" to increase the fee for examination as provided in
this section.
