(House Bill 561)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 318B (a)
of Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Health," subtitle "State Board of Barber
Examiners" to provide for a license fee for student barbers.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 318B(a) of Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1965 Replacement Volume), title "Health," subtitle "State
Board of Barber Examiners" be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows :
318B.
(a) Before beginning attendance as a student at a barber school,
every person shall apply for and the Board shall issue to him a
barber school student's permit. A fee of five dollars ($5.00) shall be
charged for this permit. It shall be paid to the State Board of Barber
Examiners.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

CHAPTER 77
(House Bill 562)
AN ACT to add new Section 323D to Article 43 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement Volume and 1965 Supple-
ment), title "Health," subtitle "State Board of Barber Examin-
ers," to follow immediately after Section 323C thereof to provide
that each barber-shop owner shall pay a yearly shop license fee to
the State Board of Barber Examiners, and specifying the amount
of the license.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 323D be and it is hereby added to Article 43 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement Volume and 1965
Supplement), title "Health," subtitle "State Board of Barber Exam-
iners," to follow immediately after Section 323C thereof and to read
as follows:
323D.
From and after January 1, 1969, each owner of a barbershop shall
pay an annual license fee of five dollars ($5.00). This fee shall be
paid for each location owned, and shall be paid to the State Board of
Barber Examiners.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.
