674                             LAWS OF MARYLAND                      [CH. 321

Talbot County, and providing the reimbursement of their expenses
and mileage for each day they shall be engaged in the discharge
of their duties.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 65 and 67 of Article 21 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Talbot County," sub-
title "County Commissioners," be and they are hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

There shall be five County Commissioners of Talbot County; one
of said Commissioners shall be a resident of each of the five election
districts according to the present names, bounds and limits now

comprising said election districts; that is to say, the County Com-
missioner shall be a resident of Election District No. 1, known
as the Easton District and the candidate residing in said
District
who receives the largest number of votes of all other candidates
residing in said District shall be deemed elected; on
County Com-
missioner shall be a resident of Election District No. 2, known as the

St. Michaels District and the candidate residing in said District
who receives the largest number of votes of all other candidates
residing in said District shall be deemed elected; on
County Com-
missioner shall be a resident of Election District No. 3, known as
the Trappe District and the candidate residing in District who
receives the largest number of votes of all other candidates residing
in said District shall be deemed elected; one County Commissioner
shall be a resident of Election District No. 4, known as the Chapel
District and the candidate residing in said District who
receives the
largest number of votes of all other candidates residing in said
District shall be deemed elected; and one County Commissioner
shall be a resident of Election District No. 5, known as the Bay

Hundred District and the candidate residing in said District who
receives the largest number of votes of all other candidates residing
in said District shall be deemed elected. Each of these said Com
-
missioners shall be elected by the qualified voters of the entire
County. The County Commissioners shall receive reimbursement for
their expenses while engaged in county business, whether within
or outside the
county.

67.

The County Commissioners of Talbot County shall each receive an
annual salary of [two thousand dollars ($2,000.00)] five thousand
dollars ($5,000.00)
,
payable quarterly, provided that the Chairman
of the County Commissioners shall receive an annual salary of
[two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500.00)] five thousand five
hundred dollars ($5,500.00).
The said County Commissioners are
required to meet for the transaction of public business in their
office at Easton not less than two days per week, and as much oftener
as the proper discharge of their duties may require. THE SAID
COMMISSIONERS MAY RECEIVE REIMBURSEMENT FOR
THEIR EXPENSES INCURRED WHILE ENGAGED IN COUNTY
BUSINESS, WHETHER SUCH EXPENSES WERE INCURRED
WITHIN OR OUTSIDE THE COUNTY.
