Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of this
Act, concerning an increase in annual salary, shall not be con-
strued to extend or apply to the County Commissioners of Talbot
County in office on the effective date of this Act for the
remainder
of the term in which they are then serving; the salary provisions
of this Act shall take effect with the next term of office.

Sec. 4. And be it further enacted, That, subject to Section 2
of this Act, this Act shall take effect June 1, 1967.

SEC. 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, THAT THIS ACT
SHALL TAKE EFFECT JUNE 1, 1967.

CHAPTER 322

(House Bill 899)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 123 and
124 of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edi-
tion) , title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Birds, Game and Inland
Water Fish," subheading "Commission," to exclude the Sheriff of
Baltimore County from the provisions of these sections; and cor-
recting an error therein.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 123 and 124 of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Birds,
Game and Inland Water Fish," subheading "Commission," be and
they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

123.

All sheriffs, constables and police officers, and all the officers ap-
pointed by the Department of [Tidewater Fisheries of Maryland!
Chesapeake Bay Affairs, shall assist in enforcing the game and fish
laws of this State, and shall have all the powers of a game warden.
The provisions of this section shall not apply to the Sheriff of Balti-
more County.

124.

Whenever the Director shall require the assistance of the division
or department in charge of tidewater fish and fisheries, he shall so
advise that department, which in turn shall instruct the officers of
the said tidewater fisheries force to forthwith assist the Director or
game warden in the enforcement of the game and fish laws of this
State, and the Director shall likewise have the right to call upon the
State Police for such assistance. Whenever the Director or deputy
game warden shall require the advice and assistance of the State's
attorneys and sheriffs of the several counties of this State or of
Baltimore City, it shall be the duty of such officers to render the
required assistance as in other State cases. The provisions of this
section shall not apply to the Sheriff of Baltimore County.
