the prohibited acts arranging or participating in arranging any
mortgage, promissory note, or other evidence of indebtedness upon
the obligations of a home improvement transaction with knowl-
edge that it recites a greater monetary obligation than the con-
sideration for the home improvement work.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 261(a) (5) of Article 56 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume), title "Licenses," subtitle
"Home Improvement Law," subheading "Prohibited acts; penalties,"
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and
to read as follows:

261.

(a) The following acts are prohibited:

(5). Preparing, arranging, participating in arranging, or
accepting any mortgage, promissory note, or other evidence of
indebtedness upon the obligations of a home-improvement transac-
tion with knowledge that it recites a greater monetary obliga-
tion than the consideration for the home-improvement work, which
consideration may be a time sale price;

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

CHAPTER 318
(House Bill 886)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 37 (a) of
Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle "Local Licenses and License
Provisions," to exclude Colesville (5th district) from the election
districts in Montgomery County where issuance of alcoholic
beverages are prohibited and providing for referendum thereon.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 37(a) of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition) title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle "Local Licenses
and License Provisions," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, and to read as follows:

37.

(a) Where sale prohibited.—In Montgomery County, no license
for the sale of alcoholic beverages authorized by this article shall be
issued for any place of business located in any one of the following
election districts or towns of said county: Laytonsville (1st dis-
trict), Clarksburg (2nd district), [Colesville (5th district),]
Darnestown (6th district), Barnesville (11th district), and Damas-
cus (12th district), and the towns of Kensington and Takoma Park.
