repealed, providing for the appointment, powers and duties of
committing magistrates in Harford County.
Whereas, Section 97 (c) of Article 52 of the Code was amended
by Chapter 709 of the Acts of 1966 with respect to the appointment
powers and duties of committing magistrates in Harford County,
and
Whereas, The Act of 1966 has been repealed thus cancelling the
changes made in this Section by Chapter 708 of 1966, and
Whereas, It is desirable to retain the provisions of this Section
despite the general repeal of the provisions of Chapter 708 of 1966,
now, therefore,
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 97(c) of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1966 Supplement), title "Justices of the Peace", subtitle "Trial
Magistrates System", be and it is hereby repealed, and that new
Section 97 (c) be and it is hereby enacted in lieu thereof, to stand in
the place of the Section repealed, and to read as follows:
97.
Justices of the peace to whom this section applies include (by way
of enumeration and not limitation) judges of the People's Court and
committing magistrates in Harford County.
(C) IN HARFORD COUNTY THE GOVERNOR SHALL AP-
POINT "COMMITTING MAGISTRATES" SELECTED JUDI-
CIOUSLY TO SERVE THE ENTIRE COUNTY WITH A DUE RE-
GARD FOR POPULATION AND GEOGRAPHY. THE COMMIT-
TING MAGISTRATES SHALL SIT AT SUCH TIMES AND
PLACES AND SHALL PERFORM SUCH DUTIES AS ARE AS-
SIGNED TO THEM BY THE JUDGES OF THE PEOPLE'S
COURT. IN THE CONDUCT AND ADMINISTRATION OF THEIR
AFFAIRS THEY SHALL CONFORM TO SUCH PRACTICES AND
PROCEDURES, CONSISTENT WITH LAW, AS ARE PRE-
SCRIBED BY THE JUDGES OF THE PEOPLE'S COURT.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 230 (a)
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Harford County (1965 Edi-
tion, being Article 13 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland), title "Harford County," subtitle "County Commis-
sioners," amending the laws concerning the Citizens Nursing
Home Board in Harford County in order to change the mem-
bership thereon of a member of the Board of County Commis-
sioners of Harford County.
