AN ACT to add a new Section 53(6) to Article 2B of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition) (1966 Supplement), title "Alco-
holic Beverages," subtitle "General Provisions on Issue of Li-
censes," to provide that, where a license has been issued to indi-
viduals to the use of a corporation or club, such license may be
transferred to other individuals to the use of the same corporation
or club by a petition rather than formal application for transfer.,
AND TO PROVIDE A CONDITION AS TO THE AMOUNT OF
STOCK IN THE CORPORATION WHICH HAS BEEN TRANS-
FERRED SINCE THE LAST TRANSFER OF THE LICENSE.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 53(6) be and the same is hereby added to Article 2B of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition) (1966 Supplement),
title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle "General Provisions on Issue of
Licenses," to read as follows:
53.
(6) In Prince George's County, if an existing license has been
issued to individuals for the use of a corporation or club and there-
after the licensee desires to substitute one or more of the officers of
such corporation or club, such substitution may be requested by filing
with the Board of License Commissioners for said county a petition
setting forth the necessary information for such substitution or sub-
stitutions without the necessity of filing a formal application for
transfer of license as otherwise provided in this Article. Said peti-
tion for substitution of officers shall be approved by the said Board
upon a proper showing that the licensee would still meet the require-
ments of the law as set forth elsewhere in this Article., PROVIDED
THAT NOT MORE THAN TEN PER CENT OF THE STOCK IN
SAID CORPORATION SHALL HAVE BEEN TRANSFERRED
SINCE THE LAST TRANSFER OF THE LICENSE.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.
