said article of the Code, subtitles respectively "Criminal Jurisdic-
tion," and "Trial Magistrates System," to follow immediately,
respectively after Sections 25E, 97 (g), and 110 (c) thereof, and to
repeal Sections 108(9) and 119(n) of the said Article of the Code
(1966 Supplement), subtitle "Trial Magistrates System," and that
new Section 108(9) be and it is hereby enacted in lieu thereof, to
stand in the place of the Section 108(9) so repealed, and all to read
as follows:

6.

(f-1) [Trial magistrates] People's Court Judges of Dorchester
County shall have civil jurisdiction in all cases hereinbefore
mentioned in this section, instituted after June 1, [1963, and
involving amounts not exceeding one thousand dollars ($1,000.00)]
1967, and involving amounts not exceeding one thousand five hundred
dollars ($1,500.00).

12.

(a)    In all cases where the amount claimed or the thing in action
exceeds the sum or value of fifty dollars and justices of the peace
have jurisdiction, the several circuit courts for the counties shall
have concurrent jurisdiction with justices of the peace, provided
that in Baltimore County and Howard County the jurisdiction of the
justices of the peace and in Anne Arundel County the jurisdiction
of the judges of the People's Court shall be exclusive in civil cases
involving amounts not exceeding $300.00.

(b)    In Dorchester County the jurisdiction of the judges of the
People's Court shall be exclusive in the cases enumerated in this
section involving amounts not exceeding three hundred dollars
($300.00)
. In all cases involving amounts over three hundred dollars
($300.00), the Circuit Court for the county shall have concurrent
jurisdiction with the judges of the People's Court, and any case
involving amounts over seven hundred and fifty dollars ($750.00)
may be removed by either party to the Circuit Court for the County.

From and after June 1, 1967, the judges of the People's Court of
Dorchester County, in all cases brought before them, shall have all of
the criminal jurisdiction in such cases hereinbefore conferred upon
trial magistrates for Dorchester County in this subtitle and in such
cases any statutory reference to trial magistrates shall be interpreted
as meaning the judges of the People's Court of Dorchester County
and from and after such date the trial magistrates for Hurlock and
Vienna shall continue to exercise such criminal jurisdiction as they
heretofore possessed in all such cases brought before them.

97.

(h) Notwithstanding the provisions of Subsection (a) of this
Section, from and after June 1, 1967, in Dorchester County the
Governor shall appoint two committing magistrates for the county
for terms of two years each to begin on June 1, 1967 and every two
years thereafter. The committing magistrates so appointed shall
have the powers and duties exercised by committing magistrates in
