members shall be appointed for a term of one year, one of said
members shall be appointed for a term of two years, one of said
members shall be appointed for a term of three years, one of said
members shall be appointed for a term of five years, and thereafter
as the term of each member shall expire the Governor shall appoint
his successor for a term of five years, any vacancy occurring at any
time in the personnel of the Board shall be filled by the Governor's
appointing a successor for the unexpired term. The Governor shall
designate as chairman of the Board one of the members so appointed
by him. The members of the Board shall receive no salary per diem
and shall be entitled to receive their necessary and proper expenses
for travel and otherwise, out of the monies available therefor in the
hands of the Board. The Board may appoint, discharge at pleasure,
and fix the compensation of the secretary and such clerical force as
from time to time in its judgment may be necessary in the admin-
istration of this subtitle if and when it shall have funds available
for the payment of such persons [, and may require any such em-
ployee to give bond with surety approved by and in a sum to fixed
by the Board.] . Such persons may upon entering the duties of
their office, be covered by surety bonds in accordance with the pro-
visions of Sections 46 through 50 of Article 78A of the Annotated
Code of Maryland.
Each member of the Board of Examiners and
Registration of Architects shall take the oath of office as prescribed
by the Constitution of the State of Maryland.

Article 43
541. Same—Bond of Secretary.

[The secretary of said Board shall annually give a corporate bond,
payable to the State of Maryland, in such penal sum as the State
Comptroller may prescribe, with condition that he or she faithfully
perform the duties of said office and account for all funds received
under color of said office. Such bond shall be deposited with the
State Comptroller and the premium thereof shall be part of the
expenses of said Board.] The secretary of said Board shall, upon
entering the performance of his or her duties, be covered by a surety
bond in accordance with the provisions of Sections 46 through 50 of
Article 78A of the Annotated Code of Maryland.

Article 48
10. Bond and duties of Inspector.

[The Inspector so appointed shall, before entering upon the dis-
charge of the duties of his office, give bond to the State of Maryland,
in the sum of thirty thousand dollars, with a surety or sureties to be
approved by the Treasurer of the State, conditioned for the faithful
performance of the duties imposed upon him by law, which bond
shall be recorded in the office of the clerk of the Superior Court of
Baltimore City, and the premium on which bond shall be paid by
the State of Maryland; and he shall, as soon as he shall have bonded
and qualified as required by law,] The Inspector so appointed shall,
upon entering the performance of his duties, be covered by a surety
bond in accordance with the provisions of Sections 46 through 50 of
Article 78A of the Annotated Code of Maryland; and he shall
take
charge of all the tobacco warehouses in Baltimore City and all the
tobacco, books, furniture, appurtenances and effects belonging to the
