The Treasurer, in accordance with the budget approved by the
County Commissioners, shall be entitled to appoint a Deputy Treas-
urer and such clerk or clerks as he may deem necessary, and for
whose official conduct he shall be responsible; said Deputy Treas-
urer, clerk or clerks to be paid by the County Commissioners. Such
clerk or clerks, not including the Deputy Treasurer, are to be com-
pensated and employed in accordance with the Merit System regula-
tions applicable in Prince George's County.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of this act
apply and shall be effective as to all such clerks who have held em-
ployment in the office of the County Treasurer of Prince George's
County for not less than six months immediately preceding the
effective date of this act. All such persons shall be included in such
Merit System regulations without examination or further qualifica-
tion and thereafter shall be subject in all respects to such Merit
System regulations as they may be amended or changed from time
to time.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

(House Bill 191)
AN ACT to repeal Section 7-1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Prince George's County (1963 Edition, being Article 17 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Prince George's
County," subtitle "Building Permits," repealing a local law of
Prince George's County concerning the issuance of building per-
mits.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 7-1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince
George's County (1963 Edition, being Article 17 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Prince George's County," sub-
title "Building Permits," be and it is hereby repealed.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.
