sion's Funds and Programming and Scheduling of Highway
Projects", to follow immediately after Section 211H-7 thereof, to
amend the twenty-year official highway needs study of the State
Roads Commission to provide for the construction in Prince
George's County of a perimeter road in the City of Greenbelt;
reconstruction of State Route 197 in order to widen and resurface
the same between U. S. Route 50 and U. S. Route 301; reconstruc-
tion of State Route 450 in order to widen and resurface the same
between State Route 3 and State Route 564, and construction of
an access road to Bowie Race Course FROM A POINT ON STATE
ROUTE 3 to relieve the traffic and congestion in the City of
Bowie.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 211H-8 be and it is hereby added to Article 89B
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume and
1966 Supplement), title "State Roads", subtitle "Expenditure of
Commission's Funds and Programming and Scheduling of Highway
Projects", to follow immediately after Section 211H-7 thereof, and to
read as follows:

211H-8.

The official "twenty-year highway needs study" of the State Roads
Commission is hereby amended to show the need in Prince George's
County for a perimeter road in the City of Greenbelt, reconstruction
of State Route 197 between U. S. Route 50 and U. S. Route 301, re-
construction of State Route 450 between State Route 3 and State
Route 564, and construction of an access road
FROM A POINT ON
STATE ROUTE 3 to Bowie Race Course.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

CHAPTER 534
(Senate Bill 525)

AN ACT to authorize and direct the Board of County Commissioners
of Prince George's County to pay a sum to be determined by them
as an award in compensation for damages to Louis B. Oertly.

Whereas, On Friday, October 12, 1962, Louis B. Oertly was serv-
ing as a volunteer director for a Prince George's County youth club
dance held at Central High School in Seat Pleasant, where he was
injured in attempting to prevent damage to the school property by
youths present at the dance, and

Whereas, Mr. Oertly was knocked to the floor, striking his head,
which resulted in loss of hearing in one ear and loss of equilibrium,
and causing him to lose his job as a tool and die worker, and

Whereas, Mr. Oertly has incurred medical expenses as the result
of his injuries and other expenses for which he ought to be compen-
sated, and
