Roads Commission construction contracts to guarantee bids with
a certified, cashier's or treasurer's check or to guarantee such
bids with a bid bond.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 24 (b) of Article 89B of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1964 Replacement Volume) title "State Roads," subtitle "In
General", subheading "Bids over five hundred thousand dollars",
be and it is hereby repealed and new Section 24 (b) of Article 89B,
title "State Roads", subtitle, "In General", subheading "Bids under
one million dollars", is hereby added in lieu thereof, said new subsec-
tion to follow immediately after Section 24 (a) of said Article and
to read as follows:
(b) Bids under one million dollars—To all bids under $1,000,000
there shall be attached a certified check of the bidder, or a cashier's
or treasurer's check drawn upon a bank, according to the schedule
above set forth, or the bidder may, with the approval of the State
Roads Commission, accompany said bid by a bid bond with such
surety or sureties, acceptable to the Commission, in penalties equal
to the respective amounts set forth in the aforegoing schedule, the
obligation of which said bond shall be that the bidder to whom the
contract is awarded shall promptly and properly execute the con-
tract and furnish bond for the completion of the work provided
thereunder, as provided in the specifications.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

AN ACT to add new Section 281A to Article 77 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1966 Supplement), title "Public Education",
subtitle "Chapter 27. Free Scholarships", to follow immediately
after Section 281 thereof, to establish a program of County schol-
arships for students enrolled in Prince George's Community
College.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 281A be and it is hereby added to Article 77 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1966 Supplement), title "Public
Education", subtitle "Chapter 27. Free Scholarships", and to follow
immediately after Section 281 thereof, and to read as follows:
281A.
There is hereby established a program of County scholarships for
students enrolled in Prince George's Community College.
During the academic year 1967-68, not more than one hundred
(100) full-time students shall be educated by Prince George's Com-
munity College free of charge for tuition under this section.
