to designate the location of any State agency, after review by the
Director of Budget and Procurement £.] subject to the provisions of
subsection (2) of this Section.
(2) After June 1, 1967, no appropriation shall be obligated or
expended for the rent of any building or part of a building to be
occupied for State purposes at a rental in excess of the per annum
rate of fifteen per centum (15%) of the fair market value of the
rented premises at the date of the lease under which the premises
are to be occupied by the State or any agency thereof. , nor for altera-
tions, improvements, and repairs of the rented premises in excess of
twenty-five per centum (25%) of the amount of the rent for the first
year of the rental term, or for the rental term if less than one year.
(3) The provisions of this Section shall not apply to leases made
prior to June 1, 1967 except when renewals thereof are made after
such date.
(4) The provisions of this Section shall apply only where the
rental to be paid exceeds two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) per annum.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

CHAPTER 510
(Senate Bill 457)
AN ACT to repeal Section 142 of Article 77 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1965 Replacement Volume), title "Public Educa-
tion," subtitle "Chapter 10. School Physicians," and to enact new
Section 142 in lieu thereof, to stand in place of the section re-
pealed, to provide for exclusion from any public, private, or paro-
chial school in the State of Maryland of any person with com-
municable tuberculosis employed in any capacity in said schools,
and providing for administration of this provision.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 142 of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1965 Replacement Volume), title "Public Education," subtitle "Chap-
ter 10. School Physicians," be and it is hereby repealed, and that
new Section 142 be and it is hereby enacted in lieu thereof, to stand
in the place of the section repealed, and to read as follows :
142. Workers in schools must be free from tuberculosis in a com-
municable stage; evidence to be furnished.
No person having tuberculosis in a communicable stage shall be
permitted to work in any capacity in any public, private, or parochial
school in the State of Maryland. At the time of initial employment,
and on an annual basis thereafter, each such person must furnish
evidence to the school administration, in a manner approved by the
Local Health Officer, that he is free of tuberculosis in a communi-
cable state.
