Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

CHAPTER 435
(Senate Bill 184)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 81 (f)
(10) of Article 66˝ of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1966
Supplement), title "Motor Vehicles," subtitle "Administration—
Registration—Titling," to change the amount of the fee for annual
registration of certain single unit tow trucks used exclusively for
towing of vehicles for repair or removal of abandoned vehicles
from the public highways.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 81 (f) (10) of Article 66˝ of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1966 Supplement), title "Motor Vehicles," subtitle "Ad-
ministration—Registration—Titling," be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

81.

(f)

(10) If such vehicle is a single unit truck, with a chassis weight
in excess of 2,500 pounds,
equipped to perform the function of a tow
truck and is [owned and operated by the owner of a fleet of vehicles
and is] used exclusively for towing [and servicing his own vehicles
and not used for hire] vehicles for the purpose of repair, storage, or
removal of abandoned vehicles from the public highways,
it shall pay
a registration fee based on a maximum gross weight of 17,000
pounds, as set forth in subsection (f) (1) of this section, regardless
of the shipping weight of the chassis and battery as certified by the
manufacturer, provided such shipping weight of the chassis and
battery as certified by the manufacturer is in excess of 2500 pounds.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

of Article 66˝ of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
