WAY, the construction of which is hereby authorized and directed
to be undertaken as soon as it is practicable to do so.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1966.

CHAPTER 357
(House Bill 1061)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 47 of
Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and
1965 Supplement), title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle "General
Provisions on Issue of Licenses," to delete an out-dated proviso deal-
ing with liquor licenses issued and effective on June 1, 1959, and
to qualify the restriction as to issuance of a liquor license in Balti-
more County within a certain distance of a school or church so as
not to apply to issuance of certain types of licenses.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 47 of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition and 1965 Supplement), title "Alcoholic Beverages,"
subtitle "General Provisions on Issue of Licenses," be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

47.

In Baltimore County, the board of license commissioners shall not
approve any license to sell alcoholic beverages within three hundred
feet of any school, church or other place of worship or within one and
one-half miles from the corner of 4th and D Streets in Sparrows
Point. The said three hundred feet are measured from the nearest
point of the building of the proposed establishment to the nearest
point of the building of the school, church or other places of wor-
ship. Nothing in this section shall apply to or affect or prohibit, in
any manner, the renewal or transfer of any license of any establish-
ment where, subsequent to the original granting of said license a
school or church building was erected within 300 feet [issued under
the provisions of this article which is issued and in effect on June 1,
1959] . This provision shall not apply to the issuance of special and
temporary licenses.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1966.
