"Miscellaneous Provisions," and to enact new Section 32 in lieu
thereof, to stand in the place of the Section repealed; to provide
that the organization of the State Department of Health shall be
recommended by the Commissioner of Health and shall be subject to
the approval of the State Board of Health and Mental Hygiene AND
RELATED MATTERS.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 32 of Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1964 Replacement Volume), title "Health," subtitle "Miscellaneous
Provisions," be and it is hereby repealed, and a new Section 32 be
and it is hereby enacted in lieu thereof, to stand in the place of the
Section repealed and to read as follows:

32.

The Commissioner of Health shall be responsible for determining
the organization of the State Department of Health, from time to
time, subject to the concurrence and approval of the State Board of
Health and Mental Hygiene.

All delegation TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH
by the State Board of Health and Mental Hygiene of its powers,
duties, responsibilities, and functions AS AUTHORIZED ELSE-
WHERE IN THIS ARTICLE AND IN ARTICLE 27 OF THIS
CODE shall be to the Commissioner of Health.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1966.

(House Bill 795)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 37(v) of
Article 87 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Sheriffs," subtitle "Compensation and
Duties," to increase the annual salary of the Sheriff of Wicomico
County and his chief deputy to be effective with the next term of
office AND CORRECTING CERTAIN REFERENCES THEREIN
TO THE FORMER BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
WICOMICO COUNTY.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 37 (v) of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1964 Replacement Volume), title "Sheriffs," subtitle "Compensa-
tion and Duties," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

37.

(v) The Sheriff of Wicomico County shall receive an annual sal-
ary of [fifty-five hundred dollars ($5,500.00)] seven thousand dol-
lars ($7,000.00) to be paid to him in equal monthly installments.
