CHAPTER 316
(House Bill 1209)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 34(d) of
Article 101 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Supplement),
title "Workmen's Compensation," subtitle "Application of Article;
Extra-Hazardous Employments," providing for volunteer fire com-
panies in Carroll County to elect to have all of its members and
employees considered as workmen for wages under the provisions
of the State Workmen's Compensation laws and deleting the pro-
vision requiring application to and approval of the County Com-
missioners by the fire company so electing.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 34(d) of Article 101 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1965 Supplement), title "Workmen's Compensation," subtitle "Ap-
plication of Article; Extra-Hazardous Employments," be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
34.
(d) In Carroll County any volunteer fire company may elect to
have its [paid] members and/or its [paid] employees considered
as workmen for wages under the provisions of this article [by making
application to and receiving the approval of the County Commis-
sioners,] and the company so electing shall provide for payment of
premiums on behalf of its members to be covered by this article.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1966.

CHAPTER 317
(House Bill 3)
AN ACT to add a new Section 38 to Article 1A of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1965 Supplement), title "Aero-
nautics," to follow immediately after Section 37 thereof and to
be under the new subtitle "Friendship International Airport,"
establishing a program whereby the State of Maryland will
assist in the paying of the capital improvements at Friendship
International Airport, imposing certain duties upon the Governor
of Maryland and the Director of the Department of State Plan-
ning in relation to these payments, and relating generally to cap-
ital improvements at Friendship Airport and the use of State
Funds and the cooperation of State officials in relation thereto.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 38 be and it is hereby added to Article 1A of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1965 Supplement),
title "Aeronautics," to follow immediately after Section 37 thereof
and to be under new subtitle "Friendship International Airport,"
and to read as follows:
