CHAPTER 300
(House Bill 646)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 109 of
Article 21 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Conveyancing," subtitle "Miscellaneous," to provide that
the cost of State revenue stamps required for documents in
Maryland shall be divided equally between the grantor and gran-
tee be added to the existing section dealing with internal revenue
stamps of the United States of America.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 109 of Article 21 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Conveyancing," subtitle "Miscellaneous," be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
109.
In every agreement, written or verbal, for the sale or other dis-
position of real or leasehold property, it shall be presumed (in the
absence of a provision to the contrary) that the parties to such
agreement intended that the cost of any internal or Maryland State
revenue stamps required under any tax law of the United States of
America or the State of Maryland should be equally shared between
the grantor and grantee. This section, AS IT APPLIES TO IN-
TERNAL REVENUE STAMPS, shall only apply until such time
as the proper officers of the United States of America or of the
State of Maryland shall determine whether the grantor or the grantee
is liable for the cost of such stamps in the State of Maryland; and
this section shall not apply between mortgagor and mortgagee.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1966.

MENTS Article 2B, title "Alcoholic Beverages," of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition) by adding provisions
to Section 60(a) heading "Boards of license commissioners," sub-
heading "General procedure" and Section 63(n) heading "Disposi-
tion of license fees," subheading "Prince George's County" chang-
ing the procedure whereby alcoholic beverage licenses are issued,
