office, nor shall he receive any commission or pecuniary profit on
any such purchases. He shall reside in Harford County during his
term of office, shall devote his entire time to the discharge of his
duties as such Director, and during the term of his employment,
shall not accept or receive any compensation from any other source
which is related to his official duties as Director of Public Works.
WITH THE EXPRESS PRIOR APPROVAL OF THE COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS, HOWEVER, THE DIRECTOR MAY RE-
CEIVE COMPENSATION FROM SOURCES OTHER THAN THE
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS FOR WORK OR SERVICES NOT
RELATED TO HIS OFFICIAL DUTIES WHICH IS PERFORMED
OUTSIDE THE TIME REQUIRED FOR PERFORMANCE OF
HIS OFFICIAL DUTIES.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1966.

CHAPTER 266
(Senate Bill 346)
AN ACT to add a new Section 102A to Article 52 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume), title "Justices of
the Peace", subtitle "Trial Magistrates System", to follow imme-
diately after Section 102 thereof, providing for the appointment
of a justice of the peace to act as a committing magistrate in
Worcester County, and relating generally to the appointment,
duties, jurisdiction, powers and compensation of this committing
magistrate.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new Section 102A be and it is hereby added to Article 52 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume), title
"Justices of the Peace", subtitle "Trial Magistrates System", to fol-
low immediately after Section 102 thereof, and to read as follows:
102A. In addition to other justices of the peace authorized to be
appointed under other provisions of this Article, the Governor, with
the advice and consent of the Senate, shall appoint one justice of the
peace for Worcester County who shall act as a committing magistrate.
He shall be on duty in Ocean City each night from May 1 to Septem-
ber 30 in each year, inclusive, between the hours of 10 o'clock p.m.
and 4 o'clock a.m. He has and may exercise all the civil and criminal
jurisdiction conferred upon other justices of the peace in Worcester
County, except that he has no jurisdiction to try cases. He has power
to take recognizance for the appearance of any accused before the
trial magistrate. He shall receive compensation at the rate of two
thousand dollars ($2,000.) each year.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1966.
