Article VIII. Housing Court
7-101.

There is hereby created the Housing Court of Baltimore County.
The court shall consist of one judge and the number of such judges
may be increased or decreased by the General Assembly by law.

7-102.

The Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate,
shall appoint the judge of the Housing Court to the office on June 1,
1966 for a term of four years. Thereafter the terms of any judge of
the court shall be for four years from June 1 of the year in which
appointed.

7-103.

The judge of the Housing Court shall have the qualifications pre-
scribed by Section 2 of Article IV of the Constitution of Maryland,
shall be a resident of the county and shall have been actively engaged
in the practice of law in the county for a total period of at least five
years.

7-104.

The salary of the judge of the Housing Court is not less than $7,500
to be paid by Baltimore County.

7-105.

The Court shall sit at some convenient location or locations in the
county at least three times in each week.

7-106.

(a)   The Housing Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction to hear
and try all cases involving the following:

(b)   Violations of the zoning laws and regulations of the County;

(c)   Violations of the health laws and regulations occurring in the
county;

(d)   Violations of the Building Code of the county; and

(e)   Violations of the fire code of the County.

7-107.

The judge of the Court is authorized to suspend sentence or costs,
or both in any case and to make such conditions for probation as
may be required or to grant probation without verdict in any case.

7-108.

The judge of the Housing Court is authorized to adopt rules and
regulations necessary to carry out the provisions of this subheading.

7-109.

The judge of the Housing Court is authorized to appoint a clerk
at a salary of not less than $4,500 annually and a secretary at a salary
