ployees," to increase the annual compensation of the clerk to the
Board of Supervisors of Elections in Worcester County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 5(h) of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1965 Supplement), title "Elections," subtitle "Supervisors of Elec-
tions and Employees," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

(h) In Worcester County the clerk of the Board of Supervisors
of Elections provided for in this article shall receive an annual salary
of [$700] $800.00.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby declared
to be an emergency measure and necessary for the immediate pres-
ervation of the public health and safety and having been passed by a
yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the members elected
to each of the two houses of the General Assembly, the same shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 49 of
Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement
Volume), title "Public Education," subtitle "Chapter 5. County
Board of Education," to increase the amount of traveling and
other expenses allowed annually for the Board of Education of
Worcester County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 49 of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1965 Replacement Volume), title "Public Education," subtitle
"Chapter 5. County Board of Education," be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
49.
The county board of education shall hold an annual meeting each
year on the second Tuesday in May, or as near as possible thereto in
May, except that in Montgomery County such annual meeting shall
be held on or before the tenth day of January in each year. At this
meeting the board shall elect one of its members to serve as president
and one to serve as vice-president. Other regular meetings shall be
held at least once in each school term, and such special meetings
may be held as the duties and business of the board may require.
The members of the county boards of education shall receive no
salary, but each member shall receive the sum of one hundred dol-
lars annually for traveling and other expenses incident to attending
the meetings and transacting the business of the board within the
